The Evolution of Bobonja

This day, way back in 1994, before there was Brangelina or Bennifer, and way before there was TomCat.............There was Bobonja. It was March 23, 1994 when Bobby and I made our public appearance at the Shadybrook Cinemas to see one of the box office's greatest hits........"Lightning Jack". We then went on to have a high dollar meal at a very well known establishment known as Ruby Tuesday's. I'm pretty sure that after that we "cruised the Columbia strip" in his mom's Oldsmobile Eighty Eight. It was the beginning of a long love affair that the paprazzi are still dying to photo today.

Destin Vacation. 2007 That brings us to the present. Hope you enjoyed the breeze through the past with Bobonja. I hope and pray that one day when I'm in the rest home blogging, I can still hear Bobby yelling, "Are you on the computer again!!! You are such a blog freak!!" By that time it will be music to my ears. Right now, however, it's not and I am going to and spend some time with the wonderful gift of a husband that has been given to me. Praise to Him who gives us all good things!

Here's to many more unofficial anniversary celebrations!

Happy Easter!

Just some good 'ol family pictures for Easter. We had a great time with Tracie and Chris here to visit and had a wonderful worship experience this morning at church. We sang some of my personal favorites and that always makes a good praise time for me. We finished out the afternoon with my parents and Bobby's over for a nice, big lunch. The kids were very obedient this morning to get their pics made. Rhett will do just about anything to get a piece of gum these days.

Cade looking handsome.

Grant, who did NOT like his outfit but somehow managed to pull himself together.

Rhett, after all the evidence that he had been eating chocolate eggs since 6:30 this morning was wiped from his face. Family photo op thanks to Chris. Not sure what Grant is doing but this is about as good as it gets, folks.
Tracie and Chris. Chico came along as well but wasn't around for the photo shoot.

Me and my sis.

Happy Easter to All!!

Having Some Easter Fun

Luckily, since our church didn't do it's annual Egg Hunt, we found another one to crash. The boys loaded up with enough candy to last us the rest of the year and once again, I'll be forced to throw it away in small increments so that it goes unnoticed. Quick family pic. This is just after I was nearly consumed by the swarm of 6 and unders that dwell in our community. I was bending over to help Rhett and happened to look over my shoulder just as the pack was nearing me. I promise it looked like killer bee's or birds migrating to the south for the winter. Take your pick. Either way....momentarily frightening.
After that we headed home to color some eggs. Aunt Tracie and Uncle Chris came up for some Easter Festivities. I was going to post the picture of our finished eggs but after being dropped from approximately 18 inches from the color cups at least a dozen times each they were slightly on the gruesome side.
Rhett, in his usual fashion, decided to forgo the handy egg transferring wand and use his own God-given wand resulting in hands that closely resembled those of Shrek.
Good times. Good Fun. Great Company.

Resurrection Trail

Today my mom and I took the boys to Christ Community's Resurrection Trail. It was a great hands-on experience in what the Bible says about the days leading up to Jesus' crucifixtion and resurrection. There were tweleve stations and all were listening good in the beginning.... Rhett was actually listening so well that I was completely shocked. He added in a few comments ("What he gon do now?") among other things. Grant? That's a whole 'nother story.

Rhett even participated in the foot washing when they were telling the story of how Jesus washed the disciple's feet. He sat so quietly and stuck his little piggy's out there. I know they had to be freezing because it wasn't exactly a balmy kind of day. All three liked the hammering part when the people were talking about the cross Jesus carried.
It was a great experience for the boys. Grant didn't appreciate it this year. When we got to the end and we are looking at the "empty tomb" they had set up and the nice man is telling the greatest part of the story where Christ has risen and we all can have the free gift of salvation all Grant can think to say is, "When are we going to get our peanuts and water??" No, readers. I didn't forget to fill you in on anything. I guess Grant blacked out and thought we were at Logan's.........

It's Hard Work...........

lookin' this cute. Literally, hard work. I have never seen a boy with such high maintenance hair. Having a girl could not be any worse. Our regular morning hair routine is as follows: entire head sprayed with detangler, brush out curls with a wet hair brush, apply curl scrunching gel to hair, blow dry while cupping curls in your hand (so as not to create frizz) and follow with sprunch spray to hold in place. How I'm ever going to teach him this I don't know. I have a bad feeling that as he enters his teenage years that all this hard work is going to go down the drain and he's going to show up everywhere with a head full of nappiness. Bobby has been present for several hair sessions so he could learn the routine and perform it in my stead should he need to. Although it takes a lot of "doin' " to get it right, the end product sure is cute!

Caught It!!!.........Almost.

In celebration of St. Patrick's Day Cade had to build a leprechan trap for school. They set them out overnight in hopes of catching the little critter that had been responsible for the havoc in their classroom. This is how Cade found his trap at school. The story he told goes as such: Apparently the leprechan climed up the ladder, tried to get to the gold, noticed he was going to fall in the hole, stumbled, knocking over the entire trap and in the meantime.........
caught his underwear on something. So, now, if it weren't bad enough to have a little green man running through the school, there is now a little green NAKED man running through the school.
He did leave Cade some gold which really made Cade super excited.
Here is the little leprechan that lives at our house. Lucky for me he USUALLY wears his underwear.

Like, What Just Totally Happened??

So, Bobby and I decided to host an Eighties Murder Mystery Party this weekend. It turned out to be quite a time! Every person invited had a character to portray and halfway through the party someone, like, totally got killed! Bobby was Peter Pinkman, a ghostbuster with a problem I won't discuss on this forum, and I was Samantha Pinkman who, unfortunately, was found out to be the killer at the end of the night!
I was laughing so hard as everyone was arriving that I got a stitch in my side and my cheeks were killing me. Gladonna, Mr. P, Talex Towens and Shaggy-Goo Oxide all rolled in at the same time.
Even famed rockers Jeven Rearcie and Patty Plane showed up. Here's the best shot I got of the guys. Unfortunately my camera was on the fritz and non of my pictures turned out great. Today, the poor girl is completely dead so I don't know what I'm going to do to recover from this travesty. My camera, as most of you know, is like an additional appendage to me.

The girls.
We were so happy to have a visit from the vintage Tammy Faye Bakker. She did cry the whole night though and that was a drag. We topped off the night with a little "80's Couple Idol". I think these folks took the cake with their redition of "You Can't Touch This". I haven't seen the MC Hammer dance in quite some time.
I just know Bobby and I were a close second singing our tribute to Patrick Swayze with "I've Had the Time of My Life". I totally belted it and I'm sure A'lyce, who is the co-director of Pre-School Choir at church, is going to rally for my immediate dismissal as kindergarten choir teacher. We had a great time and loved hosting. Thanks for re-living the 80's with us and I'm sorry I killed you, Jonathan.

Snow Day!!.........Seriously This Time!!

Today was an exciting day at the Morgan's with a record 2 inches of snow on the deck, according to the Snow measuring stick that Cade made at school. This was the first time Rhett has ever seen a substantial amount of snow and he loved it.....until his hands got frozen and his boots kept falling off. He spent most of the morning on all fours screaming for help. " is too swippery!!"
This is just a sad photo. Had they been old enough, the boys would have been totally humiliated that they were sledding down our hill on a cardboard box cut up by their father. We do not own a sled and apparently not too many stores carry a stash to put out last minute around here. And gee wiz, bathing suits are already out. What makes me think they would also have sleds?

Cade took a face plant and managed to dust most of the snow off his face before I took this picture.
And, last, good kisses from Rhett to his daddy.......before snot was covering his lips. There were a couple pics of me that will make it into the "official" scrapbook but unfortunately, just as I was walking out the door I was tackled by the fashion police and they chastised me for the horrible array of clothing that I had chosen. I thought it was flattering...........if you like being compared to a refrigerator.
