Yet another use for........

Toothpaste. Who knew you could paint a sink bowl using a brandnew tube of Crest and your toothbrush? This is the aftermath.
This is the in-denial culprit. Who, in spite of the blue sleeves and being at the crime scene, stated that he did NOT in fact do it. Then he decided to fess up and make cute of it. The fact that I ran to get my camera and between snaps gave him the "angry mommy" face didn't help much either. This is the one to watch these days. I never know what I'll find him in. In fact, it wasn't even me who discovered him this time. I was trying to be good host to a superbowl party here and my friend happened upon the mess. There's no telling how far it would have gone had she not caught him!!
Bright side? The bathroom had a nice, clean, minty smell for a couple hours.

Snow Day??..............Maybe?

Frankly we're all rather perplexed. School was called off today after a teaser of a 2 hour delay. We're assumming it's due to weather.........the only problem is that there is none. I always thought that a prerequisite for a "snow day" was, well, snow. Seems logical. I guess the school board doesn't feed into that same school of thought. So today we have enjoyed our "cold day" off of school doing things such as organizing our playroom, having an indoor picnic with all the premade lunches I spent time making this morning to send to school with my children, and whining and hitting each other a lot..........the kids hitting one another, not me hitting the children :) As for now, it is mandatory quiet time at the Morgan's and I'm soaking in the silence trying not to ponder the many errands I had planned for today that took a backseat when it became "too cool for school".........

Not so Update Update....

I finally got to talk with our case manager yesterday regarding our dossier (adoption paperwork in El Salvador for all you non-lingo-ers). I have been waiting for forever to hear from her but as I knew from the get-go, communication with her is quite slow. Anyway, she informed me that our dossier was "officially submitted" to the government in ES on November 9th and made it through the "pre-approval" process (which really means a whole lot of nothing other than someone purused it). However, it was then sent back to the attorney with 4 other dossiers to be basically reorganized.........they didn't like the order of the paperwork. So, he fixed all of that, got it recertified and resubmitted. I don't know what effect, if any, that snafoo will have on our wait time. I guess now we are for sure officially waiting to wait............Ahhhh, adoption. So many unknowns, so much wondering, so much waiting.

Yet the Lord longs to be gracious to you: He rises to show you compassion. For the Lord is a God of justice. Blessed are all who wait for Him! Isaiah 30:18

Here we are, Lord! WE'RE WAITING!!

Beds Are Overrated...........

Last night as I prepared to get into the bed, I noticed a glow coming from Rhett's room. I went upstairs to check it out and this is what I found. After checking for a pulse, I ran to get my camera. I know a blog-worthy moment when I see one! This cracks me up because we just moved him to a "big boy" bed about a month ago and just about every night he points his finger at me and says in a whisper "Don't wet me get out my bed." As if reminding himself of what I tell him just before I leave him for the night. He must have forgotten our little talks last night.

He obviously spent a lot of time removing each item from his bed and strategically placing them around himself for the perfect palate. And, alas, leaving an empty bed. Who needs a bed anyway? Isn't it so much more fun to let your creative juices flow and create your own sleeping environment?
My parenting experiences have led me to believe that someone should create cages for big boy beds. It would cut out a lot of escapee drama.....................

Crieky! It's the Dark Knight of Gotham City!!!

Thanks to T and C the boys have their very own life-size superhero in their playroom. They thought it was the coolest thing ever when I got him on the wall. It took me a while to find a spot for him because he really is quite big!The boys were pulling out all of their fake karate moves and Batman stunts. Hopefully the Joker won't show up to have a final battle with our resident superhero. This will likely be the newest scapegoat for why the playroom stays so messy......

Thank You Toaster Strudel............

for my stylin' moustache.......

For All the People That Ask..............

Where did Rhett get that hair??? Well, here's your answer! Bobby sported the fro for many years and has now passed it down to his offspring, only in a lesser format. Rhett ended up with my texture which nicely offsets the curliness. How cute is this???!!!Bobby's mom had given me a shoebox full of pictures a few years ago and tonight we sat down and sorted through all of them. I ran across this one and was a bit freaked out at how much Rhett resembles Bobby at this age. The boys even thought this WAS a picture of Rhett. How funny! I need to get all of these into a scrapbook. Yeah, I'll start on that as soon as Rhett is older than 2 weeks in his first year book and when Cade gets past the age of 2.5 in our family album. Looks like it will be roughly 2015 before any of that happens. They've lasted for 27ish years already.........what's a few more :)
