Crieky! It's the Dark Knight of Gotham City!!!

Thanks to T and C the boys have their very own life-size superhero in their playroom. They thought it was the coolest thing ever when I got him on the wall. It took me a while to find a spot for him because he really is quite big!The boys were pulling out all of their fake karate moves and Batman stunts. Hopefully the Joker won't show up to have a final battle with our resident superhero. This will likely be the newest scapegoat for why the playroom stays so messy......

Thank You Toaster Strudel............

for my stylin' moustache.......

For All the People That Ask..............

Where did Rhett get that hair??? Well, here's your answer! Bobby sported the fro for many years and has now passed it down to his offspring, only in a lesser format. Rhett ended up with my texture which nicely offsets the curliness. How cute is this???!!!Bobby's mom had given me a shoebox full of pictures a few years ago and tonight we sat down and sorted through all of them. I ran across this one and was a bit freaked out at how much Rhett resembles Bobby at this age. The boys even thought this WAS a picture of Rhett. How funny! I need to get all of these into a scrapbook. Yeah, I'll start on that as soon as Rhett is older than 2 weeks in his first year book and when Cade gets past the age of 2.5 in our family album. Looks like it will be roughly 2015 before any of that happens. They've lasted for 27ish years already.........what's a few more :)

I Did It Because I HAD to............

I was made aware that Disney was planning to put Cinderella in the "vault" and you know what that means! You can't buy it anymore for, like, 10 years!!!! I just thought it would be a tragedy if baby girl had to wait 10 years to see such a classic. So, to mimimize the affliction she would face, I picked it up on my latest Target stop. One more thing, waiting patiently, in the dark recesses of my closet.........................

My Favorite Card

My friend, Danielle, sent this to me and I just keep re-reading it because it makes me laugh every time. The inside: "Pearl looked around for the flag, then realized with horror that the sound was coming from her arm-dangle." HAAAHAAAHHAA

Which is why, folks, I am at the gym doing the tricep press and kickbacks..................

They Say it's All Downhill From Here........

Yesterday I hit the big 3-0! I know. You can hardly believe it. I had a hard time believing it myself. All these years I thought I was 23 and just yesterday I found out it wasn't true. I had an unexpected visitor yesterday that just made my day! Around 10:45 my mom came over. That wasn't out of the ordinary........however, her behavior was really strange. She kept looking out the window and pacing around the kitchen. Also, I think I'm going to give my mom the quote of the day for my 30th birthday. After asking me about how it felt to be thirty and hearing my comment she said, "Well..........today is Elvis' birthday, too. And look at him........He's dead. So, you should be thankful!" I just cracked up. Anyway, back to the visitor. At 11 the doorbell rang and there was my sister!!!! I had no idea she was coming and I had just said a couple days ago that I wished she lived closer so we could have lunch on my birthday. It was so nice to have her here and to be able to have a bit of "girl time" with our mom. Thanks, Trac for driving all the way here to go to Stoveworks!
Mom made me a strawberry cake with buttercream icing.......Yummy. We came to our house and ate cake after a nice dinner at Jeffrey's with my parents and Bobby's parents.
As at all birthdays since having children, I had extra help blowing out the candles. This is a commemorative picture of me wishing that my metabolism doesn't slow dramatically and that I won't be forced to wear "mom jeans" while I'm shopping at Coldwater Creek. Maybe all that happens at your 40th birthday now since 30 is the new 20 or whatever they always say on the Today show.............. All joking aside, I am very thankful that I'm celebrating another year. Thirty or fourty or fifty.......whatever. I am happy, healthy and blessed and I wouldn't trade any of my years. My twenties gave me lots of fun, a wonderful husband, a beautiful home, and three spectacular boys. I'm looking forward to what my thirties hold in store for me!!

Just a Pinch of Salt and a Dash of Pepper......

or a PILE of salt and a HEAP of pepper. Whichever you choose. I have learned my lesson many times over with this number three child..........You cannot leave him alone for any length of time. No matter how well you think you have prepared the area, there is always something for him to get into. I walked up on him and noticed what he had done. Luckily, I had already had my camera out and it was lying close by. Before he took note of me I snapped him in action. That way I could have proof before he looked at me with that precious face and said, "I not do it, mommy. I not." He says that often (of course, always in a fib). "Rhett! What are you doing???" His face is, "Oh, hello Mother. Are you speaking to me? Is that a direct question that requires an answer or merely a rhetorical one?"
This is my entire, new black pepper can and a shaker of salt that was full. All to waste. My vaccum is now well seasoned.
I need a third eye to be watchful with. Not really, God. I know you could do it for me but in reality that would be really weird.............
