A PACKAGE!!!!

The long awaited package from Aunt Tracie and Uncle Chris arrived today. The boys were ecstatic. Cade was jumping up and down saying, "I just KNOW this is the one Uncle Chris sent. I just KNOW it!" Filler bags were flying everywhere and finally the box's content was revealed. Lots of stuff: markers, colored pencils, paper of all kinds, dinosaur cards and the coolest of all.................real dinosaur eggs that crack and hatch a baby dino. I'll have to keep you posted on the dino growings.............Is that against Spring Hill City Codes???
What's in here??? Take note that Rhett went straight for the marker pack. If you've read my last post you know what happened next. Yes, sure enough.........marker to the face and hands all over again. I've spared you another pic.......
Cade lovin' the flashcards about dinos.
Thanks Aunt T and Uncle C!!!! WE LOVE GETTING MAIL!!!!! (especially in large boxes :) )

Click, Clack, Click, Clack.........

While sitting at the computer I was hearing a strange noise coming down the hallway. In one of Bobby's proudest moments as a father of three sons, we realized that it was Rhett, dressed in my shoes and happy to be doing it.
I must say that I, however, was a little more impressed than Bobby. It was shocking to me that he was able to balance and walk any distance in these heels! True talent my friends.
I'm sure this is no indicator towards his future as he is one of the roughest, toughest boys I know. It's just one more challenge that he has conquered...........
One challenge he has NOT conquered............using a marker appropriately. Cade and Grant were doing some coloring and this is how I found Rhett. Serious Wal-Mart diaper baby. I'm not sure why this pic posted so small but his face is saying, "What? What? No big deal." Note to self: do not let Rhett color without supervison. You think I would have learned this lesson the last time when he ate the tips (yes, you read correctly, ATE) off of two green markers. Oh, with age comes so much wisdom.........and common sense.

Free Vacation!!!

Thanks to Bobby doing well at work and his job's great rewards program, we got to take a trip to Colorado Springs, Colorado. We stayed at the Broadmoor, a five start resort for 4 nights, 5 days. It was a great time for relaxing, sightseeing, and well, relaxing!! The best part was that it was paid for by someone other than us! That freed us up to do some spa-ing and golfing.
We did a tour on the cog railroad up the side of the mountain to Pikes Peak. Unfortunately, it was really cloudy that day and once we got to the top we couldn't see anything.

It was freezing on the mountain top- about 30 degrees cooler than the base. It was also a weird feeling being up that high-over 14,000 feet. I told Bobby I felt like I did when I was about 6-8 weeks pregnant- nauseous and groadie ( it that a word???) We took a jeep tour down which was a little frightening........steep inclines, sharp curves, no guardrails, a driver that wasn't the brightest crayon in the box if you catch my drift.

We look happy, deep inside we're a bit nervous.

Big rock formation in "Garden of the God's". Really neat place. lot's of rocks.

This is right outside our hotel room. We were headed to dinner. This night I got to eat about 4 carrots for dinner which really beat the roll that I had for dinner the night before. Not a good eating trip for me being that the menus were pre-selected and contained a lot of steak. Steak and I do not mix. We had a great time and can't wait to take the next free trip. Go, Bobby, Go! Next year................ Costa Rica!!!! ( That is if I can talk Bobby into turning down Pebble Beach- major golf place for those of you that don't know.)

Thanks, Nana!

Cade, Grant and Rhett want to give a shout out to their Nana for making them their army man vests. They love them!!! And no, army vests are NOT appropriate attire for church...........

Whole Buncha Monkeys!

On Tuesday we took a big trip to the zoo with our friends, The Ashman's, Aunt Tracie and grandma. Tracie came in for a few days and we had lots of fun swimming, zooing, and playing with Chico-boy. It was pretty nice weather for a zoo trip. Not too terribly hot. By the end of the day though, we had a buch of pooped out people. Adults and kids alike.

It seems we have made many trips to various zoos with Aunt T. Maybe we should make this some kind of family tradition.........visiting zoos worldwide together. She may beg to differ........This is Rhett roaring at the tigers. He is actually "RRRRAAAAARRRRRR"ing at the top of his lungs. I'm pretty sure they were petrified.
Grant got pretty petered out and wanted to ride in the stroller. Rhett found that to be totally unacceptable and threw a fit even though he was not even riding in it. Leave it to mom to find a solution...............Who needs a double stroller anyway? Just stack 'em up and roll on.
This was the boy's most favorite attraction at the zoo. It is the wildlife area dedicated to "deere".
By the end of the day all the kids were acting like monkeys. We topped off the trip with some fun time in the jungle gym and jumping area and most importantly an Icee. Then lucky for me everyone fell asleep in the car and then didn't want to nap at home. (please note the sarcasm). Good times. Great fun. Great friends and fam.

Last Swings

We finished up t-ball this past week for Cade and Grant. They both really loved it this year and were sad that it was over. Grant made a new friend on his team and they spent most of the game time making googlie eyes at one another. (yes, it was a girl). We learned this season that Grant has a pretty mean left handed swing but he throws better with his right hand.
This is the face that is sometimes hard to punish. However, catch me at the right time and I have no difficulty whatsoever............
Family and close friends will know that this picture is probably classic "little Bobby". I have heard many a story of how Bobby used to stick his tongue out whenever he was really concentrating on something. We'll just chalk this one up to one more thing that Cade has gotten from his daddy's gene pool. Eventually we'll figure out where my half ended up!

Rhett was a trooper once again through another season of sports. He started saying "pize, pees?" translated: "prize, please?" as soon as we got the car parked. He knew after several times of being at the field that as soon as the game was over everyone got to take their tickets to the concession and get a sucker or something. It never ceases to amaze me how much more junk food the third kid gets compared to the other two. How does that happen???
Until next season!!

Critter Catch

Grant officially caught his first critter today. A baby toad, frog whatever was bouncing in our yard when Grant snatched him. Cade was all into it too but he wasn't about to actually touch it. He was in the background saying, "YOU get him, Grant! DO IT!!" Just a glimpse into the life of peer pressure Grant will face from his brother.
Grant was so very proud that he really picked him up. He tugged at his legs a little and then......
I thought for sure the frog was going into his mouth. He really did open wide right after this picture. I don't EVEN know what was going through his mind.( It could be contributed to the hours spent watching "Man vs. Wild" with his father.....). I screamed his name and brought him back to reality. Geeezz. After the frog started to become lethargic and unresponsive I decided it was time to release him back to find his mother, whom I'm sure had been calling for him for the last thirty minutes. She probably warned him of this very thing just before he hopped off........................
