Mary Belle's Farm

Elaina had her first field trip ever with her Pre-K class at Mother's Day Out. We headed to Mary Belle's Farm where she got to look at goats and sheep and dodge lots of poo poo from all the goats and sheep:/ Here are a few of her favorite friends from her years at KOTK: Garrison, Carris, and Asher.

Even though she was reluctant, she eventually held one of the baby sheep.

She did a lot of just walking around with her buds.

She and I loved Mary Belle's Farm for about 30 minutes and then we were ready to get out of dodge. When I asked her later what her favorite part was she said, "Petting the dog." Geez. We could've done that at home! It was still a great day spending time with her friends. These kids are growing WAY too fast!

Fifth Grade Field Trip...Sniff

Cade has his last field trip....sniff sniff.....and it was a "big" one! The fifth grade class got to travel to Huntsville to visit the Space and Rocket center. I was scheduled to be a bus riding volunteer but as luck would have it (yes, I consider it lucky when you suddenly no longer have to ride the actual bus with a bunch of fifth graders) the teacher counted incorrectly and there were not enough seats to hold the chaperones. Traveling with some of my friends was a much better option:)

I still enjoyed spending time with Cade and watching him interact with his buds. I'm so thankful that he still wants me there and is not shy to snap a selfie with me in front of his friends:)

 He and his pal Ryan:

The kids had a workshop where they made little parachute men.

And for memory's sake here is Taylor (in the green). She's the "like" of Cade's entire elementary career.

After the parachute men were made they got to drop them off of the balcony. I believe there was some learning involved here but I can't remember what it was.

I'm blessed to have spent Cade's final elementary field trip with him and these two great friends, Ryan and Drew. I hope they stick like glue through middle school too!

Field Trippin'

I chaperoned Cade's fifth grade field trip to Bicentennial Park and thought I'd document my two pics here on ye' ol' blog for posterities sake. I can so remember being a fifth grader and it still makes me smile to look back on some pictures from that period of my life. So, here it is, MY fifth grader on what may be his last elementary school field trip.....sniff sniff. Please note the seven inch standing gap between Cade and the girl we very loosely and innocently have termed his "girlfriend". It made me laugh to see them so awkwardly stand close to one another for a picture moment:) Good times!

This was actually a really great field trip. I found that at one point I was actually having fun and not one time did I feel the urge to strangle someone else's child. I consider that a chaperoning success!!
