Only not the good kind. Yesterday turned into a whirlwind kind of day. Tee-Tiny had been fighting fever since Sunday. Higher fevers than any of my boys ever faced. After entering the fifth day of running temps between 101 and 104, I decided that another trip to the pediatrician was in store. She was pleasant despite the fever and even gave me lots of smiles. Isn't she cute when she smiles?
About twenty minutes later we're checking in at the ER and getting ready to be put in our little room. I decided to stop by the bathroom since I hadn't been there since the early morning and woah. I looked like trailer trash. Not that there's anything wrong with trailers in general.....I just looked like I came from the park that always gets hit by the tornado. My hair was so greasy that I could've gotten a job at the Waffle House as their bacon greaser, (note to self: Your hair does NOT do well being washed the night before. You KNOW this. Don't try it again.), I had mascara from above my eyebrows to the mid portion of my cheeks, (which, by the way, would have never happened if Melissa Radke and Angela Spencer had not set me up with a mascara intervention two years ago.), and the strings that tied in the back of my shirt ripped off when I bent over to pick up Elaina so I looked like I was four months pregnant (another note: Do not tie those things so tight. Apparently my lats are much larger than I thought.).
Anywho, bottom line: Lanie looked much better once receiving fluids, after two more tries for a catheter and ending up with a little pee catching bag, it was discovered she had a urinary tract infection. Once her temperature of 104.9, oh yes, 104.9, came down she was a different child. It is assumed that she probably had a febrile seizure at the doctor's office.
We got home a smidge after midnight, exhausted, hungry and most of all thankful. I'm so glad we got to come home WITH baby girl. She's better today but still on the road to recovery. God is good.
I'm all for excitement, but sheesh, take me to Dollywood or something. That's more my speed.

So glad she is doing ok. I heard about it last night and we were praying for her. Praise God!
I hope Elaina is feeling better today! Hugs, the Castro's
So glad to hear she is on the mend. I'm sure that was very scary, Sonja. Praying that she has a full recovery.
Oh Sonja how scary! Glad she is feeling better and that you got to come home and not have a long hospital stay. She is adorable and I love her smile!
Dear Lanie,
Don't pull that crazy stuff again, OK? You nearly gave your Mom and Dad (and the rest of us) a coronary. That's not a good choice.
XOXOXO,
M
So I'm reading your comments thinking, "Why is everyone talking about the baby? And no one is even mentioning how my name was all up in that post?" But then I remembered the post was really about her, and....oh well.
I would like to go on record as saying that although mascara and a light lip gloss do a million wonderful things for a woman, nothing does more good than a baby that cute! Love ya!
Glad she's doing better...I'm sure you had some baby wipes with you to fix those eyes! Didn't I tell you that trick?
You Poor Girls!!! Hope you NEVER have to go through that again. Glad Elaina is doing better so Mom and Dad, and the rest of the family can relax and get back to enjoying each other. :)
